Employment rights in common situations

These pages give you quick links to 'bundles' of employment rights that might apply in common situations.   To use them follow these steps:

 

1. Follow the link on the left to the page that refers to your problem. 

 

2. Open the checklist at the top of the page that contains the points to check.

 

3. Work through the checklist using the references on the web page for further information.

 

4. At the bottom of the page is a further document which gives you notes on the issues to compare with your answers to the checklist. 

 

5. Finally there is a link to a section of the website that reviews your options for resolving the problem.

Zero increases by 26%

The Office for National Statistics has released new figures that show nearly 700,000 people work on zero hours contracts - up 26% from last year.  The problems caused by these contracts will require a significant change in the law.
